Voting For Student Winner Of Innovative Contest For Garden City Jeep Chrysler Dodge Begins
Public Invited to Cast Vote For Winner

Three talented Long Island students from Briarcliff College are vying for a chance at a $5,000 prize for developing an exciting creative marketing campaign to promote the services of the “Can Do Crew” from Garden City Jeep Chrysler Dodge. The campaign and contest was designed by Walter F. Cameron Advertising of Hauppauge and facilitated by the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce. “We’re excited about the contest and the potential for each of the student finalists to benefit from the $5,000 prize in furthering their educational and career goals. I was personally impressed with each of the student submissions,” said Mike Villani of Garden City Jeep Chrysler Dodge.  The public is invited to view the entries and vote for their favorite submission online at www.gardencityvote.com  The contest ends on September 5, 2010.

The three student finalists include the team of John Lantz and Will Malloy who created a promo video; Kyle Matheson who created a 3-D animation and James Martin who developed an internet game. All three entries use live action or animation to portray an automobile in near disrepair and in need of a rescue from the Garden City Jeep Chrysler Dodge “Can Do Crew.”

Dennis Daniel, Senior Broadcast Director at Cameron Advertising explained, “The contest tapped into the creative video and marketing talents of students at Briarcliff College. These students were instructed to build a campaign to communicate a message and create imagery that focus on the exceptional sales and repair work available at Garden City Jeep Chrysler Dodge. We were impressed to see the level of professionalism that our three finalists displayed in developing their on-air spots.”

The students worked several weeks on their projects and utilized their talents and creativity in a way which will effectively convey core messages.  “There is a great deal of imagination and freshness in each of the pieces presented to Garden City Jeep Chrysler Dodge. The students really became committed to the execution of the project and used all of the skills available to them ranging from live action, animation and even creating an exciting video game to get the message across,” said Michael Mastermaker, Design Instructor at Briarcliff College.
