Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce Launches Huntington Village Online Passport Information Resource Innovative Online Resource to Support Local Merchants and Serve the Public

The Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce Merchant Committee is proud to announce its newest initiative, the Huntington Village Online Passport (www.huntingtonpassport.com), an online directory to everything located and happening within Huntington Village. The Huntington Chamber’s mission is to promote business, economic development, and job creation for all its members.  With that goal in mind, the Huntington Chamber Merchant Committee partnered with the Huntington BID (Business Improvement District) in order to create a strategic online resource to support local Huntington Village merchant businesses, drive traffic into Huntington Village and stimulate economic recovery on a local basis.

Bob Bontempi has forged alliances with local chambers, business districts, clubs and schools

With a name like "Bontempi," good times can't be too far away.

Or at least that's what Bob Bontempi, the new head of Huntington's Chamber of Commerce, hopes for the town's many merchants as he shepherds them through the recession.

Just winding down from the chamber's three-day extravaganza known as the "Long Island Fall Festival" in Heckscher Park, Bontempi is now firmly ensconced in "Restaurant Week," where 51 local restaurants throughout the town are offering three-course meals for $24.95 until Oct. 23.

On behalf of the members of the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce as well as the countless thousands who visited town during our Long Island Fall Festival and Huntington Restaurant Week, thank you.

Ongoing incidents of rowdyism and lawlessness by a group of teens on Wall Street in Huntington Village and the assault of a restaurant owner on September 25, 2009 were cause for concern. The Fall Festival and Restaurant Week are important events designed to attract visitors from all over Long Island and the metro area. While maintaining public safety is always foremost, it was particularly imperative during these high-traffic events.

Book your tables now because choice nights are going fast as word spreads about Dine Huntington Restaurant Week, sponsored by Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce, Long Islander Newspapers and Lexus of Massapequa.
 
For 12 days from October 12-23, more than 50 restaurants from every corner of Huntington Township will serve up a 3-course dining experience for $24.95 per person plus tax and tip (Saturday until 7 p.m. only).  Some of the finest restaurants in town are on board and their chefs are designing menus to showcase their art and show off their restaurants to new diners.
