While our world continues to fight and take the necessary precautions to fight the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic, Long Island has successfully met the requirements to enter Phase 3 of Re-Opening. This is another monumental step in re-starting our economy as many businesses have been shut down since March to stop the spread. Industries that are able to open in Phase 3 Include:
- Spas
- Nail salons
- Tattoo piercing facilities
- Appearance enhancement practitioners
- Massage therapy
- Cosmetology
- Tanning salons
- Waxing services
In addition, restaurants are now able to have 50% capacity inside their buildings, exempt of employees.Tables inside and out must be spaced six feet apart. Staff must wear masks at all times. Customers can take off their masks while seated. Org
For other industries re-opening during Phase 3, it is important to remember that there are strict guidelines that must be met prior to re-opening. You must Read and Affirm the guidelines for your specific industry designated by New York State. In addition, your employees must wear masks, safety guidelines must be posted throughout your building, and other precautions must be taken. You can learn more about the guidelines by visiting Forward New York.
State officials have also made determinations about how and when various other specific activities can proceed. Among the highlights:
-
Veterinarians and dentists are allowed to open statewide.
-
Hospitals and group homes — but not nursing homes — can accept visitors at their discretion as long as proper health and safety measures are in place.
-
State parks, campgrounds and RV parks are open; marinas and boatyards are open for personal use; state beaches are open with certain restrictions.
-
Outdoor school graduations of up to 150 people with social distancing will be allowed beginning June 26.
-
Summer day camps may open June 29.
- Gatherings of 25 people are allowed
We are looking forward to seeing our town continue to re-open and if you have any questions, feel free to contact the Chamber Staff.
