Steven C. Hearl received a bachelor of science in civil engineering from Clarkson in 1980 and a master of science in civil engineering in 1984. While at Clarkson, he was a member of both Tau Beta Pi and Chi Epsilon honor societies.

Steven spent the first two years of his career with the City of San Diego Water Utilities Department Wastewater Section before returning to Clarkson for his master’s degree. At H2M architects + engineers in Melville, New York, for over 33 years, he currently is vice president and department manager for Wastewater Collection and Conveyance Systems. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York and New Jersey, a certified Construction Contract Administrator and a LEED Accredited Professional.

He has served his profession as a member of the Board of the Long Island Chapter of the New York Water Environment Association and the Long Island Chapter of the Construction Specification Institute. He has also served Clarkson in a variety of roles such as assisting in the recruitment of students, serving as class reunion giving and activity chair, and serving as president of the Long Island Chapter of the Alumni Association.

Steven was on the Board of Leadership Huntington and is the chair of the Sustainable Practices Committee for the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce.

Steven lives in Greenlawn, New York.
